This section attempts to convey details on how to navigate through titles which contain page/section/chapter links in the most effective manner. Unlike PCs, eReaders do not, as a rule have a mouse to point at the links on a page. Links of course can be both text or image based.
Each manufacturer handles the navigation through such links in different manners. This section attempts to clarify this.

The PRS-505 has very clean and easy to use navigation using a combination of button presses.
To access the various data levels use the MENU button.
Reader Menus: Use the 1 - 0 buttons to access choices. For example, press 2 for Books by Title.
To load a book, select letter of alphabet then scan through any pages by using the PAGE FORWARD button (on righ-hand edge of device), then press 1 to 0 to load specific book.
Once in the book, use PAGE FORWARD or PAGE BACK to move from page-to-page.
Once the book has loaded you will find the Title Menu. Pressing once will take you to first page. To go back to Title Menu, press MENU.
Table of Contents: If the title has one, you can jump to each of these sections by pressing the number key alongside it. Press PAGE FORWARD to view any further sections. To go back to Table of Contents press MENU.
Once in the book, if you have links on the page you can access these by using the UP/DOWN arrows on the right-hand round button and press the CENTRE button to confirm. Note: On long menu's you can use the UP arrow to jump to the bottom of the list, then press UP again to move to your selected item.
Pressing either the LEFT or RIGHT arrows will move you either back to the previous section or on to the next section.
The FONT-SIZE button: Pressing this will move you through the font size selections.
The Left-Hand round button has the same function as the PAGE FORWARD and PAGE BACK buttons.

The PRS-300 has similar navigation to the PRS-505 but only has one round button. Thus some of it's functions work differently.
To access the various data levels use the HOME button.
Reader Menus: Use the 1 - 0 toggle-buttons to access choices. For example, press 2 for Books by Title.
To load a book, select letter of alphabet then scan through any pages by using the PAGE FORWARD button (RIGHT arrow on round button), then press 1 to 0 to load specific book.
Once in the book, use PAGE FORWARD arrow or PAGE BACK arrow (left and right arrows on round button) to move from page-to-page.
Once the book has loaded you will find the Title Menu. Pressing once will take you to first page. To go back to Title Menu, press HOME.
Table of Contents: If the title has one, you can jump to each of these sections by pressing the number key alongside it. Press PAGE FORWARD to view any further sections. To go back to Table of Contents press HOME.
Once in the book, if you have links on the page you can access these by using the DOWN arrow on the round button and press the CENTRE button to confirm. Note: You cannot jump to the bottom of the list by pressing the UP arrow, this actually takes you back to the previous section. If you need to go back up a list use the small BACK button (to the left of the main circular button).
The FONT-SIZE button: Pressing this will move you through the font size selections.

The PRS-600 adds touch-screen navigation to the device and has five slim buttons at the bottom of the screen. Their functions are:
PAGE BACK, PAGE FORWARD, HOME, FONT-SIZE and OPTIONS.
When you turn on the PRS-600 and press the HOME button the device displays seven options, all of which are activated by touching the screen.
Continue Reading continues with the last read book from the page you left, Books displays the BookShelf, allowing you to select titles, All Notes shows you any notes created and allows you to create new ones. Remaining options are self explanatory.
When you are in a book, pressing Options offers various choices - Go to page, history, table of contents, etc. Selecting any of these takes you to a further action screen where you can make your choice. Being touch-screen, navigation through the options is straight-forward.
Generally, a very simple user interface to use.

The BEBOOK eReader has a somewhat complex navigation system - particularly where link based navigation is concerned. It has 10 buttons numbered 1 to 0 and a circular button which is actually split into a smaller (left-side) BACK button and a larger right-side button - which functions as an OK/MENU select button. It also has a PREVIOUS PAGE and NEXT PAGE buttons on the left-hand spine of the device. These are used to move forward and backwards through the book being read. Numbers 9 and 0 also handle these functions.
To navigate page links is a little clunky. Press the OK/MENU button then press the 7 button. This causes the page to display a new number alonside each of the sections on the page. Be aware that these may run over more than one page display so, to jump to say section 8, enter 08 using the number keys and the system will go to section 8 in the book.
