If you're new to the world of ePublishing, eBooks, eMagazines and eReaders then welcome to EZE OnLine where we offer you both information on our titles and background information and reviews on the rapidly growing inventory of eReaders.
E-Books as a product made an early start some six years ago. At that time titles were principally read on PCs and laptops, PDAs and some mobile phones (cellphones). In those early days titles were created in a number of different ways - to run on one device or another. As a result, sales growth was somewhat slow as the industry search for an acceptable publishing standard. One of the first to emerge was Microsoft's LIT format and then, in a similar timescale the Mobipocket standard began to appear.
However no standard was adopted by the publishing industry overall (other than Adobe PDF which really was created for PC and print purposes) until the ePUB standard was formed in recent years. Since then an explosion of titles being distributed in this format has occured and a variety of eReaders have emerged which support this standard.
In recent times cellphone manufacturers have started offering ePUB reader capabilities on smartphones and other hand-held devices. As a consequence, the number of eBook titles being published and bought has rocketed and ePublishing has entered the main stream.
